Since retiring from law enforcement, I have continued serving the community through multiple terms on the Spooner Area School Board and as a Washburn County Board Supervisor. In these roles, I have served on committees responsible for Health & Human Services, Zoning, Forestry, Extension, and Solid Waste, where I contributed to policy development and oversight.
As a small business owner, I have firsthand experience with the challenges of a region that relies heavily on tourism and agriculture for much of its income and employment. Throughout my career, I have worked to advance social justice, equality, and economic prosperity for all. Affordable housing remains out of reach for many working families in our area. Our schools also serve a high number of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunches, underscoring the challenges facing both families and educators. Providing care for a special needs person assigned by the courts, I have seen some of the challenges and obstacles families face when navigating services or a lack of them.
My wife Terri and I have been married for 43 years. We have two children and four grandchildren. Having grown up in Spooner, it has been a blessing to return to life to enjoy activities with our Northern neighbors over the past 20 years.
When elected, I will use my experience to champion policies that support economic growth, strengthen public education, and reduce social inequities.
Thank you for your time. I am eager to discuss my candidacy. As I travel throughout the district, I meet residents and listen to your concerns. Please reach out to share your suggestions—your voice will help shape our path forward.
